DEA – New name
DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG is the new company name of the traditional company based in Hamburg. The company founded in 1899 was already called “Deutsche Erdoel AG” between 1911 and 1970.
DEA – New owner
DEA now belongs to the Luxembourg financial holding company LetterOne. LetterOne was founded in 2013. The fund deploys its financial resources as well as its management and investment expertise to make value-driven investments in the energy and telecommunications sector through its subsidiaries L1 Energy und LetterOne Telecom. LetterOne plans to turn DEA into a platform for international growth.
DEA secures energy supplies
Oil and gas will also be among most important fuels worldwide in the next few decades. Safe, environmental conscious and sustainable production of oil and gas in the core regions of Europe and North Africa will form the foundations of the orientation of the company.
DEA Supervisory Board starts work
New Chairman of the DEA Supervisory Board is Lord John Browne, who recently has been appointed Executive Chairman of LetterOne Energy and who was chairman of the board of the British energy group BP from 1995 until 2007. Further are among others Mikhail Fridman who is Chairman of the Board of Directors of LetterOne and German Khan, one of the original founders of LetterOne.
The new logo: reliable values, new look
The new logo visualises the corporate identity of DEA. It documents the core elements of experience, sustainability, expertise and entrepreneurial action.
The drilling rig illustrates the extensive experience gained from more than 116 years of upstream business. Previous DEA logos served as basis and have been reinterpreted.
