Trinidad and Tobago
As part of the 2010 bidding round for shallow water blocks in Trinidad and Tobago, DEA was awarded the NCMA2 block. The NCMA2 block has an area of 1,019 square kilometres and is around 50 kilometres off the northern coast of Trinidad and Tobago in water depths between 100 and 200 metres. It lies on the same structural trend as the major gas fields Hibiscus and Chaconia.
Approval for launch of operations given in 2011
In 2011 we began with collecting 3D seismic data for the entire licence area. DEA holds a 24 per cent share in the NCMA2 block, while operator Niko Resources holds 56 per cent and Petrotrin, the national oil company of Trinidad and Tobago, holds the remaining 20 per cent.
