Work and family
DEA bears the trademark of family-friendliness: We have been awarded the "audit berufundfamilie" certificate. This is awarded by the charitable Hertie Foundation and supported by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs. The audit assesses family-friendly elements within the company and investigates possible ways in which the interests of the company and those of the employees can be even better harmonised.
Child and career
We make great efforts to ensure that our employees do not have to choose between child and career. For example, we give them the opportunity to extend the statutory three-year parental leave period by one year. In addition, we do not oblige our employees to take the parental leave all in one go. Instead they can spread the time over the first eight years of their child‘s life. This arrangement makes it easier for our employees to accompany various phases of their child‘s growing-up process from home.
We encourage the resumption of their careers by regularly offering mothers and fathers the opportunity to take part in training during parental leave. This ensures that they can keep up to speed. We also organise needs-oriented seminars to fill in any gaps that may have arisen while they were away. DEA also has flexible working hours arrangements and different forms of part-time working models as well as home office can be agreed.
Child care
We provide our employees with kindergarten places at Kita City Nord in Hamburg. Should these places all be filled we offer help to find a suitable day-care place. Should all else fail on occasion, we also offer a parent-child room in City Nord in Hamburg. Assistance in finding babysitters, day-care and emergency child-care is also guaranteed throughout Germany. We also offer a comprehensive holiday programme in the school holidays.
Support and care
We know that our employees need help and support quickly in the event of sudden illness or if close relations are in need of care. We have a partnerspecifically for that purpose. It offers individual advice on a wide range of matters associated with care.
Fit and healthy
We actively promote the health and wellbeing of our employees. We pay particular attention to a healthy working environment – which also includes an ergonomic workplace. Our in-house company medical service advises our employees and offers medical assistance. We also have a comprehensive programme of health-related seminars.
There is also provision for achieving a healthy balance: In addition to a nationwide cooperative arrangement with a chain of fitness studios, DEA headquarters also runs its own sports hall including gym, offering the opportunity to join one of the many sports groups.
